It’s one of the other best examples of being a perfect sequel.

REDDIT TUB SHROOK MOVIE

Shrek has great character development, I loved Donkey, Fiona is such a badass take on the damsel in distress trope and Farquad is not a bad villain! It pokes fun at all the different fairy tales without going too overboard like many other Shrek knockoffs do, and has such epic animations! Overall, this movie is without a doubt one of Dreamworks' best works! It's so awesome!ġ.) Shrek 2 - One of the best movies I've ever seen. Sure, you got the cliches of misunderstanding and all that, but everything else makes up for it. This was the film that destroyed Disney the year it was released. In all seriousness though, this movie is the film that turned the tide for Dreamworks. While it is not perfect, it is still just a really fun movie if you loved the character from Shrek.Ģ.) Shrek - Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me. It's action-packed, has well-developed stories and on my first viewing, had a twist I didn't see coming. It's really that good! Now that I've gotten my love for the soundtrack out the way, why do I like this movie so much? Because even though it was a movie we didn't need, it was still one I thoroughly enjoyed. Even to this day, if I'm not watching the movie, I'll still pop up the soundtrack. But those are easily forgiven by me.ģ.) Puss in Boots - Without a doubt has one the best soundtracks in the whole saga. I got the chance to fall in love with the story all over again. When I heard how much this movie is hated, I was actually really shocked! So in a way, this is such an underrated gem. Now I won't lie, on my first viewing, I loved it a lot! On my second viewing, the flaws started to really show but on my third viewing, I started to embrace it. So getting another one never hurt anybody and I was excited. I loved Shrek, even though I absolutely despised the third film. I was like, Shrek 4?! There's a fourth film?! Not in a hateful way like I did towards the Ice Age franchise (Seriously, how are they STILL making movies there? LET IT DIE ALREADY!!!) but in a surprising way. I never even knew this movie existed till it got released on DVD. It is not as grand as the movies coming up but it was better than Shrek the Halls.Ĥ.) Shrek Forever After - I'm not gonna lie. A terrible plot, terrible twists, annoying characters and overall just doesn't feel like it deserves to be canon.Ħ.) Shrek the Halls - Basically A Christmas Carol but with Shrek! Honestly, I'm all for parodies but this is one of those films where this trope just felt tired.ĥ.) Scared Shrekless - A Shrek Halloween special! It was a great parody on classic horror stories, including the Exorcist surprisingly. So here is my ranking of every Shrek film and special that I've seen!ħ.) Shrek the Turd - Not only the worst Shrek movie, but one of Dreamworks' worst movies overall. So like all franchises, there will be some weak entries as well. It was an original story despite being a parody of fairy tales we know and love. It took a concept which should've been impossible, and made it work so well that there have been many other films trying way too hard to be like it, like Happily Never After, Chicken Little, etc. Hey now, you're an all-star! Seriously though, Shrek is definitely one of the best franchises out there in animation.
